Programs |
The detained able bodied inmates are being given vocational trainings in various trades like Carpentry, Black smithy, Tailoring, Book-binding, Coir mat making, Agriculture and Horticulture. Upto December 2008, 318 Nirashritaru have been given training in the above professional activities. Each inmate is being paid Rs.100/- as wages during the training period.
In addition to this, a literacy programme have been taken up at Bangalore Nirashrithara Parihara Kendra and 30 Nirashritaru have been given Akshara Jnana. Further training in Agriculture and Horticulture have been given and the part of vegetables for the inmates of Nirashrithara Parihara Kendra Bangalore are grown and utilized to the use of the inmates. Cultural programme have been organized by the Kannada and Culture Department at Nirashrithara Parihara Kendra Bangalore.

The detained Beggars of
Nirashrithara Parihara Kendras are being given one tiffin with coffee, tea, two meals daily in addition to providing bedding, Uniforms, soap, oil, tooth power etc., Medical and psychiatrist care also taken by the Local Government Hospitals. A separate hospital is functioning with Medical Officer and supporting staff at Nirashrithara Parihara Kendra Bangalore. Once in 15 days a team of Doctors from NIMHANS are visiting and providing medical facilities to the inmates who are suffering from Mental illness at
Bangalore Nirashrithara Parihara Kendra. |

The Beggary Cess is collected by the Local Authorities in accordance with Section 31 of the Karnataka Prohibition of Beggary Act 1975 and remitted to Central Relief Committee Fund. All possible efforts have been taken to implement the prohibition of Beggary Act in the State. |
