National Air Monitoring Programme:

The Board is monitoring Ambient Air Quality in Bangalore and other major cities of Karnataka under NAMP. The monitoring is being carried out both in fixed stations and by using mobile laboratory.

Under NAMP Programmes 14 stations are being monitored at the following locations:

  •   Bangalore

  • 1.      Graphite India – Whitefield Road (Industrial Area)

    2.      Amco Batteries – Mysore Road (Residential/Rural/Other Area)

    3.      Victoria Hospital – (Sensitive Area)

    4.      K.H.B Industrial Area – Yelahanka (Industrial Area)

    5.      Yeshwanthapura Police Station - (Residential/Rural/Other Area)

    6.      Peenya Industrial Area – (Industrial Area)

  •   Mysore

  • 1.      Vishveshwariah Building , K.R. Circle (Residential/Rural/Other Area) 

    2.      KSPCB Building , KRS Road , Metagalli (Industrial Area)

  •   Dharwad

  •  1.       Rani Channamma Circle , Hubli (Residential/Rural/Other Area)

     2.       Lakkamanahalli, Industrial Area (Industrial Area)

  •   Hassan  

  • 1.         N.R. Circle (Residential/Rural/Other Area)

  •   Gulbarga  

  • 1.         Govt. Hospital (Sensitive Area)

      Belgaum

Monitoring:

The monitoring is being carried out at a frequency of twice a week for 24 hours  for Suspended Particulate Matter (SPM), Respirable Suspended Particulate Matter (RSPM), Sulphur di Oxide (SO2) ,and Oxides of Nitrogen (NOX) 

Mobile Laboratory:

The Mobile Laboratory is being used to monitor Ambient air quality at the different locations in Bangalore City

River Water Quality Monitoring  

The  Board is monitoring and analysing  river water samples under Global Environmental Monitoring System (GEMS), Monitoring of Inland Natural Aquatic Resources (MINARS) and Board’s Programme.
