  • There are 5 Thermal Power Plants in Karnataka which are engaged in the generation of power using coal and one unit using corex gas and coal that are covered under the Notification.
  • Board has issued public notice in leading news papers indicating the responsibilities of Thermal power plants, brick kilns, and other agencies involved under the rules for compliance to Fly Ash Notification.

  • 56 % of the Fly Ash generated from M/s Raichur Thermal Power Station (RTPS) is utilized by 8 block manufacturers located within 50 Kms radius of the Thermal power plant and for the manufacture of Cement.
  • As per the amended Notification issued on 27-08-03 by MOEF, the geographical coverage of the Notification has been extended from 50 Kms to 100 Kms from Thermal power plants.
