The member of Karnataka State Pollution Control Board are nominated by the State Government. The board originally constituted as per Section 4 of the Water (prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 vide Notification No. HMA 161 CGE 74, dated: 21-9-1974 , was reconstituted during 1981, 1984, 1991, 1994, 1995, 1997 and 2001.
