PARLIAMENTARY AFFAIRS

• Summoning and prorogation of the House of Legislature, dissolution of the Legislative Assembly.
  
  
• Planning and Co-ordination of Legislative and other official business in both Houses of Legislature.
  
  
• Allocation of Government time in the Houses of Legislature for discussion of motions given notice of by Members.
  
  
• Functioning of Informal Consultative Committee of Members of Legislature for various Departments.
  
  
• Matters relating to both Houses of the Legislature Secretariat not delegated in G.O. No. LAW 67 LCR 79, dated: 29th September 1984.
  
  
• Advice to Departments of the Secretariat on procedural and other matters relating to the Legislature.
  
  
• Co-Ordination of action by Departments of the Secretariat on the recommendation of general application made by Committee of the Legislature.

Recruitment rules and Appointments

• Recruitment Rules relating to the Services and posts under the Administrative Control of the Department of Parliamentary Affairs and Legislation.
  
  
• Appointments, Postings, Transfers, Leave, etc., to Officers and Staff under the Administrative Control of the Department of Parliamentary Affairs and Legislation except those falling under the Department of Personnel and administrative Reforms.
  
  

Directorate of Translations.

• The Official Language (Legislative) Expert's Committee.
  
  
• Translation of State and Central Acts and Rules Regulations etc., made hereunder into Kannada and other Languages.
  
  
• Publication of translations of Central and State Acts, etc., in Kannada Language in accordance with section 5A of the Karnataka Official Languages Act, 1963.
