Our commitment to the Department is to provide quality and quick healthcare to the people of Karnataka besides moulding Students to be well qualified Doctors. Our endeavor in this direction is to make this department a model one. Our achievement in the past 100 days to reach this goal is as follows:
1. With the view to redress the problems being faced by the Autonomous Institutions, the following surprise visits were made,
a) Kidwai Memorial Cancer Institute, Bangalore on 2.11.2010
b) Mysore Medical College and Research institute, Mysore on 16.11.2010
c) Mandya Institute of Medical Sciences, Mandya on 29.11.2010.
During these visits, issues like attendance of Staff, treatment available to patients, facilities available in the Hospitals, administrative problems etc. were examined/reviewed. During these problems faced by these institutions were also sorted out.
2. In the Autonomous Institutions coming under the Medical Education Department, a system of having suggestions and complaint box was introduced, to enable public to drop their grievances in writing, besides giving valuable suggestions for effective improvement. In addition one Telephone Line 080-32001111 is installed in the Minister's Office for this purpose. So far, 19 complaints have been registered and prompt corrective actions have been taken.
