About Core Committee |
| Preamble |
| The Government of Karnataka has implemented several initiatives in the area of e-Governance for improving transparency and efficiency in administration. Many of these initiatives have received acclaim and have led to better delivery of citizen services. It is now felt that a greater momentum has to be given to e-Governance initiatives. |
| In this regard, a ’Government - Industry' interaction seminar was held on 31st October 2008 to elicit suggestions for mapping a way forward for e-Governance in Karnataka. Based on the discussion in the seminar, it has been decided to form a Core Committee involving representatives of IT Sector, academia, civil society and Government for developing a road map for e-Governance in Karnataka. |

| Genesis |
Government of Karnataka decided to constitute a Core Committee for directing the e-Governance initiatives in the state vide “Government Order No. DPAR 240 EGV 2008 Bangalore dated November 19, 2008”.
The Government are pleased to form a "Core Committee for developing an e-Governance Road Map" for Karnataka with the stated objective of bringing the State to the fore front of e-Governance in the country. The composition and terms of reference of the committee are as follows. |
