Introduction

Government of Karnataka, at various levels, is making concerted effort towards leveraging information technology to improve governance, planning, monitoring and particularly citizen service delivery. State has been pro-active in setting up the core infrastructure such as State Data Centre, State Wide Area Network and Citizen Service Centres. Playing a frontal role, Centre for e-Governance has taken up a number of projects at state level which are at various levels of conceptualization, implementation and operations. Though few state departments have taken pro-active measures to conceptualize its e-governance program, there are many who also require professional hand holding to make necessary headway towards it.

Aimed at providing strategic direction to e-Governance initiatives at various levels and aligning the ongoing efforts in design and implementation of e-Governance projects, Government of Karnataka has set up the Core Committee for e-Governance that comprises eminent members from academia, industry and administration.
